Even as an adult, I love fortune cookies. I’m not a big fan of chinese food— but whenever we order out or go to a chinese food buffet, I ALWAYS get a couple fortune cookies. They don’t have much flavor to them, but its just the right amount of sugar to combat all of the salt from the main course! This particular cookie had a nice little fortune… ‘Smile more, see what happens.”

There is nothing like the smell and taste of a fresh loaf of bread. Something that I enjoy even more is the wonderful smell of oil paint. Fresh Bread, 4×6 Acrylic on Canvas Panel The idea for this particular painting was an accident, much like most of the paintings that I do. I had just happened to set this loaf of bread on the table while unpacking groceries— I left the room for a few minutes and then came back in to see I had coincidently placed it in the perfect evening light! So, it was deemed my next subject… And shortly after, I devoured a small bit of ‘said subject’, slathered with peanut butter and jelly. Enjoy!
