This piece features a study of spilled water upon a wooden table top with a wooden bowl as the second subject. The main feature of this piece is to emphasize the effects of light upon the water’s surface.

RUBBER DUCKY FAMILY

This piece features a ‘family’ of rubber duckies casually floating in a thick Pyrex glass bowl. I placed the bowl on an antique table during the day’s fading light. The direct light from the low sun created beautifully striking value contrasts and a fair amount of glass reflections and refractions. I absolutely love using rubber duckies for my painting subjects, so this time I amped it up a little bit by including a whole family on a larger surface directly on the hardboard. Don’t they just look so happy?!
